What Does Bioenergy Mean?

Bioenergy is the name given to the usable energy found in organic material. This includes only the organic material that is found in living organisms, or organisms that were recently alive. This definition, therefore, excludes fossil fuels as the organic material found in fossils has been dead for many years. The organic material that contains bioenergy is called biomass.
