Video: The Story of a Coal Surge Pile Rescue

Coal mining has always been a dangerous job. This video from the Mining Safety and Health Administration tells the story of a workplace accident in which a worker, and his bulldozer, are buried in a coal surge. By staying in his cab and remaining calm, the man survived, and was successfully rescued. The coal plant also undertook several new safety measures as a result of the accident. This is a great example of safety in action, where employers and employees work together to develop effective safety solutions and reduce future accidents.
