About Our Guests

Laurel Youngstrom is a Motivational Speaker, at Moving Safety from our Heads to our Hearts. They do safety presentations, anywhere in the country, for any shift, in any industry. My husband, Russ, is a work-related paraplegic. I have been the wife of an injured worker for over twenty-four years. By presenting both perspectives of the permanent and ongoing consequences of ignoring safety precautions, we hope to cause even just one worker out of each audience to think twice about doing something unsafe. I begin, by explaining what it was like receiving "the phone call", and driving to the hospital. Russ then explains the habits and the circumstances that led up to his accident, and the accident itself. We both discuss the physical, financial and emotional consequences of his split-second decision. We hope to show our listeners how one careless act has affected every aspect of our lives (thirty-one surgeries in twenty-four years!) Hopefully, individuals will take it to heart, and think about all of the people in their life who would be affected, if something happened to them…

Curtis has committed his life and career to saving lives, after a workplace incident nearly resulted in his death. Even more, he his committed to completely customize his presentations for each client or audience to maximize his impacts. Through his "pre presentation" meetings or conference call, Curtis takes the time to discuss his client needs, wants or objectives of each planned event. Through this process, Curtis also gives his clients the opportunity to bring their own messaging into his presentation, to further customize each session.

Curtis emphasizes, that in order to develop or change a safety culture, first we must understand and influence change in human behaviours toward safety.

From a purely Inspirational/Motivational presentation, an exceptional Keynote address to a highly impactful Safety presentation, Curtis commits to developing the right presentation with the appropriate message for each client.
