In honour of Women’s History month, hosts Tamara Parris and Amandeep Beesla of SALUS are having candid conversations with industry guests about what it really means to be a woman in a male-dominated industry. We’ll be kicking off the first show with special guest, Candice Brown. With over 15 years experience in health and safety across the construction industry, Candice is passionate about improving both the physical and mental health and well being for all workers.

Our Guest Candice Brown:

With over 15 years of experience in health and safety across the BC construction industry, Candice is passionate about improving the physical and mental health and safety of all workers in the industry. She has spent her career working to move the conversation of safety away from hazard elimination and behaviour modification to a more holistic approach of listening to workers in the field and finding solutions that stem directly from their needs. She is a mental health advocate and has successfully headed various collaborations that bring awareness to mental health in the industry. As a mother, a community member, and a volunteer, Candice is kind-hearted and dedicated in her approach to all things in or outside of work.

Amandeep Beesla is the Director of Safety Insight and Innovation at Salus.

She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with her, having worked over 20 years in heavy industrial construction, civil earthworks, pipeline, mining, and oil and gas industry. Amandeep has her NCSO designation in both Alberta and BC and CSS designation in BC, as well as an OHS and NEBOSH accreditation and both her Associate of Arts Degree and Bachelor of Arts Degree. She is an active member of the CSSE, ASSP, BCTWS, and sits on various other committees and boards. Amandeep is currently working towards her CRSP.
