In this webinar, Bob will examine gas detection issues and answers for the licensed cannabis industry from the standpoint of growers, extractors, inspectors, and emergency responders. Cannabis “grow operations” involve use of carbon dioxide that can displace oxygen, while “extraction” operations use gases like propane and butane, as well as methanol, ethanol, and other solvents. Odor control and measurement is often an additional concern.
Regulations require use of fixed gas detection systems to guard against hazardous explosive, toxic, and oxygen deficient conditions in greenhouses as well as extraction rooms. Inspectors who periodically enter facilities as part of the licensing process, and emergency responders entering a facility after an accident, are both potentially at risk from these same hazards. Understanding, choosing, and using the correct portable instruments is vital to their safety as well.
