Dr. Anas Al-Hamwi, Senior Director, Walgreens co. Occupational Health, Injury and Liabilities Management, Safety, and Environmental Governance, and Board Member of National Safety Council.
Anas leads the Walgreen Co. Environmental, Occupational Health, Safety, Injury & Liabilities Management, and Security Services while also serving on the Global Walgreens Boots Alliance Governance group to improve population health, safety, and liability outcomes.
For over 25 years, he has lead Walgreens EHS Governance and serves on the Corporate Social Responsibility Governance with a proven track record for delivering improved health outcomes, business results and cost savings, and also leading many Health Care Business Operational functions.
Anas developed an enhanced safety management system focused on prevention and risk mitigation and designed and implemented an Active Care model that delivers improved access to quality care post-injury while reducing cost. He has developed a culture at Walgreens that integrates occupational safety, population health, care and advocacy into company processes and procedures, resulting in consistent reduction in team member, customers injuries, and liabilities cost.
Anas serves on the board of the National Safety Council (NSC) and is a member of the Risk Insurance Management Society (RIMS). He has earned a doctor of medicine degree from Damascus University, Syria, and is a member of the Chicago ALSAC chapter of St. Jude charities.
Matthew Hart, Founder & CEO at Soter Analytics
Matthew is a trained mechanical and reliability engineer. Before starting Soter Analytics, he was responsible for making sure the reliability of more than 200 large haul trucks and fixed plant assets was maximized on a group of mines in the Australian outback.
