Parachute Software’s platform for managing vehicle recycling processes has been used by governments for mass-incentive programs, by charity car program administrators and by vehicle manufacturers for organizing takeback programs. The solution connects the vehicle owner, the program administrator and the auto recycler to improve the efficiency and speed of the overall process.

Software Description

Parachute Software is also responsible for developing and supporting the software to manage Canada’s Vehicle Recycling Program – Retire Your Ride. Retire Your Ride is a $92M program that aims to recycle 150,000 vehicles from Canada’s roads over 3 years. Much like utility conservation programs, the requirements for the system included the ability for participants to apply online, and select from a number of different incentive options. From the processing side, the call centre needs to manage a workflow for each participant, which includes a number of 3rd parties that collaborate through the web-based platform. A number of detailed reports can be extracted from the system, including the ability to view participation rates, and the ability to calculate emission reduction values based on complex data calculations. Within the scope of this work, a number of integrations to external systems were required, which have been seamlessly developed by Parachute Software, based on the open and extensible nature of the software design.
