One of our customers had a terrible accident that resulted from a nitrogen leak in the plant. After the incident, it was required that all personnel have their own gas detection monitor. For two weeks we worked on brining enough units in to cover everyone and helped train everyone on how to use/operate/calibrate the units. We also set up some fixed units around the plant to help with confined space areas. In short, they were very appreciative that we were able to help them in this time of need. They are still one of our biggest and loyal customers today.
How I got started in Safety Equipment Sales
The reason I got into the safety industry is my father-in-law. He has been in sales for 35 years working for Ansell. He moved to Stauffer as a Regional Manager and hired me as the account manager. I learned a lot from him and it was a great transition into the new role.
