What Does Combustible Mean?

Combustible is a property of a substance that will burn as a result of fire or a chemical reaction. This is an important characteristic when materials are being used in the workplace, for construction or are being stored.

Safeopedia Explains Combustible

According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), combustible dust and combustible liquids are of particular concern in a work environment. Combustible materials may be more likely to ignite when in dust form because they are highly oxygenated. Combustible liquids are those that ignite at or above 100? (37.8?). This should not be confused with flammable liquids, which ignite at temperatures below 100? (37.8?).
