Definition - What does Vitamins mean?

Vitamins are organic substances that are found in organic food sources or other organic material, and are sometimes produced synthetically with intent. These substances are required in very small amounts to maintain normal functioning in the human metabolism, and deficiencies in these vitamins can cause certain health disorders, as well as with a rarely occurring excess of these vitamins.

Safeopedia explains Vitamins

It is possible to become deficient in certain vitamins when consuming an unbalanced diet or a highly unnatural or processed diet. Modified foods are often responsible for health problems in humans and animals. This includes the likelihood of vitamin or mineral deficiency. Companies in developed countries produce supplementary vitamins, which may be natural extracts or synthetically produced vitamins. Each country or area has its own unique regulations for the testing and production of these products and food labelling in general.
