Safeopedia Explains Biome

An example of a certain type of biome would be a tropical rainforest or a cloud forest. Most biomes are classified according to the distinctive plant and animal species that make up their inhabitants and are largely dictated by climate conditions and the nutritional resources available. Biomes are very complex and require balance to maintain their unique traits. To preserve them and avoid a loss of species they need to remain as undisturbed as possible.
