Condensation

Last updated: March 8, 2016

What Does Condensation Mean?

Condensation describes when a gas condenses back into a liquid, and is more often used when referring to water vapour condensing back into liquid water. This could be considered the opposite to evaporation. It is condensation that causes cloud formations and rainfall as water condenses. The cause of all kinds of condensation has to do with temperature and pressure.

Safeopedia Explains Condensation

Water condensation usually happens when water vapour cools and appears as droplets on a surface, or appears as clouds of water droplets in the sky and eventually falls back to earth. Condensation appears after water has been heated and then cools again. The condensation point of water is the same as its boiling point at 10 degrees celsius or 212 degrees Fahrenheit.
