What Does Control Techniques Guidelines (CTG) Mean?
Control Techniques Guidelines (CTG's) are materials issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to provide the EPA's suggestions on managing emissions from volatile organic compounds (VOC) that arise from a certain source in a non-attainment area. The EPA has been allowed by the Clean Air Act (CAA) to issue CTGs in the place of National regulations when EPA deems that CTGs will be as effective or more effective at reducing the emission as a National regulation.
