What Does Pathogen Mean?
A pathogen is a biological agent that causes disease in the body. As such, it is the first link in the line of infection. The human body contains natural defenses against pathogens. The immune system and helpful bacteria are primary pathogen fighters within your body. When a pathogen enters the body and leads to infection, a person is classed as being infected.
Pathogens are also known as germs, infectious agents, and bugs.
