What Does Certified Healthcare Safety Professional Mean?

The Certified Healthcare Safety Professional Certificate is an individual certification that healthcare workers can receive to show that they are trained in the basics of healthcare safety. This certification is undertaken by varying healthcare workers including nurses, administration staff and those who work in a laboratory environment. The healthcare safety professional is not a role, rather it is an added certification that workers can work towards to strengthen their resume.

Safeopedia Explains Certified Healthcare Safety Professional

There are various ways of attaining certification in healthcare safety and not all of them are reliable. Many big organisations such as hospitals will employee a trainer to come and provide training for staff. This training will usually take place over a two-three day extensive course, at which time interested staff members can apply to sit a written or oral test to receive their certificate. Some internet based courses promise on completion a ‘certificate’, but this is merely a certificate produced by that particular company and is not nationally accredited.
