Supplied Air Mean?
Supplied air is respiratory or non-respiratory compressed air supplied to an airline (pipe or tube). Respiratory supplied air is used by the workers for breathing through hoods, masks, face pieces and mouthpieces, in an environment, where there is insufficient oxygen, smoke, mist and dust that is harmful for the life and health. Non-respiratory supplied air is used for industrial purposes e.g. medical, painting, cleaning, bubbling etc.

Supplied air for respiratory purpose is pressure controlled. Depending upon the situation, the pressure of the supplied air is recommended by NIOSH:
- Low – 25 liters per minute.
- Moderate – 40 liters per minute.
- High – 57 liters per minute.
- Very High – 78 liters per minute.
Lines and hoses of this breathing air are to be marked as "Breathing air only". Non respiratory supplied air are mainly for industrial use.
